Toward the rear of the oil pan, there is a hole.  I jacked the rear end today to change the tires, and when I came back, there was gear oil (not engine oil) dripping from this hole.  Is this supposed to be there as a failsafe against overfilling of gear oil, should I be looking for a way to plug the hole, or should I be looking for a new oil pan?
